The Odyssey Book 1

I just read Book 1 of Odyssey and I enjoyed it a lot. I think that it is written like a bible, having hidden messages about ways to live life, and with a lot of old-school grammar. It also sounds like a history book, with heroines and bad guys and their stories. Before I started to read, I predicted that there would be several times when I wouldn't be able to figure out what was being said. And I was right about that. But what helped me was rewriting it in terms that I could understand, which helped me a lot. While I was reading, I found that a lot of the time, when someone wanted to find something out, they said, "...tell me, and tell me true,...". Did a lot of people lie during this time? I wonder if in the next book or so, we will hear about Minerva and her travels again. There are so many characters in this that I can't keep them all straight.
